Emerald Ash Borer Presentation Feb. 22, Tinicum Elementary, 7pm.

The Tinicum Conservancy is sponsoring a presentation on Feb. 22, 7pm at Tinicum Elementary School, to inform landowners and townships in our area about the serious threat posed by the emerald ash borer, an insect that is killing off ash trees everywhere.  This is not only of grave concert to landowners but also to townships that must deal with the safety issue of falling dead ash trees along the roads.

On Feb. 22  2 important people will be presenting.   Don Eggen from the Bureau of Forestry is known as the foremost authority on this subject.   Kendra McMillin was project coordinator for a USDA Forest Service grant that dealt with developing emerald ash borer management plans for 10 Pennsylvania communities.  Also on the panel will be Marion Kyde, a Tinicum landowner, who has dealt with the problem on her 10-acre property.
