It is with great sadness that Bridgeton Township announces the passing of Barbara Guth, long-time resident of Upper Black Eddy and a pillar of the community, having served as Township Supervisor for 25 years, and Secretary-Treasurer of the township for 28 years.
Barbara’s signal achievement was her tenacious resolve to get Boarhead Farms property, used as a dumping ground for tens of thousands of gallons of toxic chemicals, designated as a Federal Superfund site.
Barbara was married for 46 years to Jack Guth, who also served on numerous township committees and was a long-time President of the Palisades School Board. Jack died in 2013.
We salute Barbara’s devotion to public service, her long and distinguished tenure, and the fine community she passes on to us.
